Definitely been a while and I’ve been far too lax on updating this site. The only excuse I can give is that 2024 was a bit of a rough year for me and that’s more excuse than justification. In any case, the 0.8 draft of Ember King’s Inheritance Book 2 is nearing it’s end. I can’t say for sure when I’ll have a final draft done — that depends on a number of things — but I should be moving on to edits by the end of May at the latest. I hope. If I can remotely keep a schedule. Either way, once I am done with the first draft and waiting on edits, I’ll finally turn my eyes back to some of those other projects of mine in the interim.
I’d really like to get a first draft of some of the one-offs I started on — chiefly The Baron of Chevaladin which has languished far too long out of my care and a new project I have under the file name of ‘Forge Knights’ which sprang up last year and I got maybe halfway done before I reminded myself I need to buckle done on EKI. I would also like to, in that interim time, finally devote a little bit to my never-ending projects like Dreamtide and Sir Cathan, but those are always simmering in the back of my mind, so…
And that’s about all I have for updates now. I’ll leave you with a few little tidbits from the writing process — a sneak peek into the mind of a writer. Namely, a poorly drawn diagram I made to help me visualize a scene and an unfinished little ‘omake’, as it were, I made for my own amusement. I will be eternally grateful to Will Wight for showing me the glory of book bloopers.
