Onyx eyes bright, shining in the starlight,
Deeper than shade yet lively you remain.
Your heart pure white, gentle in the moon’s sight,
Smoother than jade yet strong as summer rain.
Wand’ring ‘neath twilit skies clear in storm’s wake,
My soul rises as a dreamer to sleep.
Though once at your absence, my heart did shake,
Love grants mercy’s comfort, my peace to keep.
My spirit’s hope, no more to be broken,
For ‘keep the faith’ my resolve has spoken.
If thou should be but dream, gone with morning,
No shame is there my love for outpouring.
‘Tis the burning of my heart which rings true,
Ever your distant glimmer to pursue.
