So I think Elidibus / Themis is neat. He’s probably my favorite character from FF XIV. And I really like the song Flow (particularly Flow – Together). So naturally, one thing led to another. I found myself thinking ‘What if the Ancients chose Hydaelyn to protect them from the End of Days instead of Zodiark? What if Themis was forced to Sunder them instead of Venat? What if the Meteor Survior were truly the Warrior of Darkness, guided by the strength of the Father Crystal?’

Now let me tell you of a tale from across the rift; a tale of a land in which despairing ancients turned to the light to protect them from destruction, leaving darkness to spur them from the hollow slumber they earned. See your helplessness as destruction descends. Shoulder the burden of each day’s despair. Stand and bear the merciless light of truth.

Welcome and well met, my brave burning star,
How long you’ve slumbered, banked low as a spark,
Oh, I have long called for you patiently all this time,
In all of your dreams.

Now walk with me once more, hear of your life,
Far greater than reverie, it’s faith and hope years shall uphold,
Boundless your tale stretches forth,
And raises your breath with the dawn.

Listen to the wind, near and far it blows,
Each breeze a message from lands far below,
And how as days flow by those voices become one,
Storms, seasons, and skies.

Racing o’er the horizon and ev’ry land,
They travel onward no matter the trials of each reflection, with rising sun,
With storm’s birth,
Til vent’ring forth they seek new stars.

Rising higher and higher in warm embrace,
Gentle winds reach down and bear you up,
Should you meet a soul falling to its rest,
With your rekindled heart, wish them well.

Up, high, far away, I reach for your hands, bear you to new lands,
As we stride towards the meaning you seek,
I’ll crush your fears, quench your tears with hope, til you near the stars,
Where in time, all of your dreams are fulfilled, ah~.

Speak, love, raise your eyes, and in new life thrive,
As dawn’s golden light, paints a path through days above,
Know you shall sleep, in seas sink again,
For this journey’s start is but one step forward to the rain’s end.
